The objective was to design an identity that conveyed a natural rugged tone with a modern look. Various outdoor related elements inspired the development of the logo mark. The mark's letterform was created by redesigning the west cardinal point from a compass and combining it with a pattern that represents both, oak wood grain and contour lines found in topographic maps. The logo was then treated with a san-serif typeface and given generous spacing to convey a clean modern look. The result was a rugged and modern identity that points home.
